Why Family Leave?
Having the ability to take time away from work allows workers to care for their families, deal with an emergency, recuperate from a serious illness or attend a family funeral with a guaranteed job when they return. While some workers are covered by the Family and Medical Leave Act, the law is limited and many workers simply cannot afford to take time off without pay.
