ONLINE DATABASE FOR UNIONS:
Work Family Contract Language
Now Inviting Submissions! To be launched in 2009!
The Labor Project for Working Families is currently building a unique online database of union contract provisions on various work family issues. This password-protected database will:
- include model and negotiated contract language on work family issues
including family leave, childcare, elder care, flexible work options,
parent-teacher conference, adoption, bereavement, etc.
- also include fact sheets, information on the essential elements of
effective contract clauses, and state laws that impact bargaining.
- feature basic, intermediate and advanced levels of contract language to help union negotiators choose from multiple levels of collective bargaining agreements as they move through different negotiation cycles.
The Labor Project for Working Families is currently seeking submissions from unions that have negotiated good work family language. The online database will be launched in 2009.
For more information about this project or to submit contract language, please contact Vibhuti Mehra at the Labor Project for Working Families: vibhuti@working-families.org; (510) 643-6813.
