Compressed Work Week
International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 830 and Philadelphia Coca-Cola Bottling Company: Teamsters Local 830 and the Philadelphia Coca-Cola Bottling Company negotiated a "flexible work week". This agreement allows a specified number of employees each to be scheduled for a three-day week (three consecutive 13.3 hour days); a four-day week (four consecutive 10 hour days); or a traditional five-day week (five consecutive eight-hour days).
International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 231 and Intalco Aluminum Corporation: Teamsters Local 231 bargained with Intalco Aluminum Corp. in Ferndale, Washington, for compressed work week schedules. Members may work 8-hour, 10-hour or 12-hour days
International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 445 and St. Luke's Hospital: Teamsters Local 445 and St. Luke's Hospital in Newburgh, New York negotiated a compressed "flex work week" schedule under which full time employees work a regular work week of 37 ½ hours each. Some nurses at the hospital also work according to the "Baylor" plan, under which their entire schedule consists of two twelve-hour shifts every weekend.
