AIDS Benefit
Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees Union Local 2 and San Francisco Hotel Multi-Employer Group: HERE Local 2 negotiated a benefit fund for union members with AIDS. The benefit, which comes out of the Health and Welfare Fund, pays up to $1000 a month and may cover expenses such as medical co-payments, licensed home care and hospice, medical equipment, non-covered prescriptions and assistance in payment of rent and utilities for eligible employees.
