American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees Council 31 & State of Illinois Dept of Central Management Services: AFSCME negotiated a family responsibility leave where a member who wishes to be absent from work in order to meet or fulfill responsibilities, arising from the employee's role in his or her family or as head of the household, may take unpaid leave for up to one year. The leave is granted in the absence of another more appropriate form of leave.
National Education Association & Board of Trustees MID Michigan Community College: NEA negotiated an unpaid leave of absence for members for parental/child care. The leave can be up to one year. Seniority will continue to accumulate during the leave
United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America Local 2324 and United Front Child Development Programs: The UAW Local 2324 won up to one year unpaid leave for maternity, paternity or adoption, for a member's own disability or if a member is primarily responsible for providing dependent care for an ill or injured family member. While on leave, members continue to receive health benefits for up to three months and continue to accrue seniority.
