Short-Term Leave
Service Employees International Union Local 790 and the San Francisco Unified School District: SEIU Local 790 negotiated paid time off for parents and legal guardians to attend conferences with teachers about their children. Release time for up to 2 hours per semester without loss of pay is provided with supporting documentation.
United Auto Workers & Michigan Blue Cross-Blue Shield: UAW negotiated paid school participation leave in one hour increments for members to participate in any educational activity including tutoring, field trips, classroom and preschool programs, etc. Up to eight hours of such leave time will be available each calendar year.
