Paid Emergency Leave
United Steel Workers of America Local 12075 & Dow Chemical Company: USWA negotiated up to five paid hours per year for members to meet personal emergency needs. Hours may be used in blocks of one or more full hours. Up to five hours unused emergency time may be carried over into the following year. Employees will be paid for any unused carry over emergency leave time above ten hours in their flat regular pay check received after February 1 of the ensuing year.
Harvard Union of Clerical and Technical Workers and Harvard University: HUCTW, an AFSCME affiliate, and the university agreed that paid release time may be available for members’ brief absences to cope with emergencies by other paid leave such as sick, vacation or personal time.
